I've been keeping family and friends updated with our DIY projects on Facebook or my blog with
no rhyme or reason. I thought it would be nice to get them all in one spot so they would be easier
for me to share.
I enjoy being reminded about how hard my husband Bill has worked on our home and property
over the years. Every corner is filled with much love and labor and many memories. We see the
finished project every day, but it's rare that we get the opportunity to look back at all of the
steps. Every project is a new lesson learned, and sometimes we have to be reminded of an
earlier mistake, so we don't repeat it.
Of course our biggest mistake is starting a project to begin with, especially if it entails remaking
part of the house. That lesson will never be learned. History tells us that our home was built by a
bunch of drunken Ukranians back in the early 50's. Nothing is to code, and the original
construction was made out of building materials from demolished homes. Honest, the wallboard
facing the outside of the house has wallpaper on it. Enough of that... On with the projects!
Turning this old retired pump house into a chicken coop. The project was
started on June 1st. Chicks are due June 13th. Fortunately they won't be big
enough to put outdoors for another 4-6 weeks.
Projects from the Past
Thanks so much for stopping by. Updates on our
current project will be made 2-3 times a week.
